Newquay beaches – there’s more than ten of them! A bit of coastline to suit everyone’s tastes.
Children play on the golden sands, couples stroll hand-in-hand, surfers ride the Atlantic rollers, gig rowers heave their long wooden boats over the breakers to the open seas.
Every beach is buzzing with activity. This is a place where people come to unwind, build sandcastles, feel the sand between their toes and take a dip in the ocean.
From May to late October lifeguards patrol most of the beaches including Crantock, Fistral, Towan, Great Western, Tolcarne, Lusty Glaze, Porth and Watergate Bay.
Take notice of the safety signs and be aware of strong rip currents. Always swim between the red and yellow flags and if you’re learning to surf stay between the black and white flags.
