Cornwall is truly inspirational, Porth, near newquay is a hamlet which clusters around the well known family beach with an expanse of golden sand, protected by headlands and flanked by the tidal water of Porth River. Cafes, tea rooms, restaurant, shops and a traditional pub are close by.

It is a pleasant coastal walk from the town of newquay and an easy stroll from the beach with no steps or cliffs to tackle. Porth island on the right hand side of the beach is the site of an iron age settlement and is linked to the mainland by a footbridge. Beneath it there are caves which can be explored at low tide and is said were used by smugglers.

On Trevelgue Head a pitch and putt course can offer a pleasant alternative to sunbathing. A few minutes along the coastal road from the bungalows is Watergate Bay where you can relax sunbathing and swimming, however the more adventurous can enjoy the extreme academy where you can learn how to surf, kite surf, waveski, land yacht, etc.

After such an exhausting day why not relax and enjoy a meal at the famous Jamie Oliver’s fifteen restaurant.

Newquay and all of its famous beaches are only one and half miles away providing ideal surfing conditions, pools and caves to explore.

There are numerous beautiful parks and gardens, coastal walks, bicycle trails and historical places of interest to enjoy. A superb range of sporting and recreational facilities are available in the near locality. The amazing and ever-growing Eden project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are approximately 15 miles away and the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth is approximately 20 miles away. In fact, we are ideally situated for exploring and enjoying the whole of Cornwall and the North Atlantic coast.
